Product Engineering and Support Group - PES (Leader: B. Heck)

The group provides support in PC design tool installation and operation (networking, PCAD libraries, etc). A major task of this group is the support provided to the design groups, and more generally to the user community, in the layout and prototyping of all types of PCBs and hybrids. Expertise is available on most of the advanced techniques in this field. The group includes an assembly workshop section that provides assistance and service in the wiring of boards (SMD tools), manufacturing of cables (in house or outsourcing), procurement of components, etc. The group participates in RD27 and in ATLAS (design of LAr calorimeter electrodes, etc).
